The Power to Care

Home > Programs > The Power to Care
The Power to CareThe Power to Care is a grant program, funded by Entergy and administered by SGFF, which offers assistance once per calendar year to our elderly and disabled neighbors on fixed incomes. SGFF works in partnership with 16 community agencies in 62 counties to process applications for The Power to Care assistance. When a household is determined to be eligible for a grant, the funds are credited directly to their Entergy bill. From January 2007 through July 2008, The Power to Care granted over $840,000 to more than 4,500 households.

All donations to The Power to Care are matched (up to $500,000) by Entergy, and all funds donated to The Power to Care go to direct grant assistance payments. There are several ways you can make a donation including:
  • Add a dollar (or more) to the total when paying your Entergy bill.
  • Make a donation in honor or in memory of a loved one. Checks made out to SGFF/The Power to Care and mailed to SGFF are tax deductible to the extent allowed by current tax laws.
