Make a community deposit that supports the revitalization of distressed rural communities!

Your community deposit will be leveraged in underserved rural markets in the Mississippi River Delta region to help hard working people earn their American Dream of home ownership, higher education, or small business ownership.

Through the three rural community banks affiliated with SGFF, Elk Horn Bank & Trust, First Bank of the Delta, and Delta Southern Bank, and our sister non-profits, Southern Financial Partners and Southern CDC, your FDIC-insured investment will be used to help revitalize one of the last remaining regions of endemic poverty in the United States in two ways:

  • We have learned that local deposits from an economically depressed region alone are not sufficient to pursue our development mission. Only with the assistance of socially-conscious investors like you will it be possible to successfully implement this unique bank-centered community and economic development concept. Your deposits help form the capital base to fund small businesses, day care centers, community facilities, and affordable housing and to develop strategies designed to assist low-income individuals and communities to achieve economic self-sufficiency.

  • More importantly, access to capital alone is not a sufficient development tool.  Consequently, we use the profits from your investment to help fund the work of Southern Good Faith Fund that works directly in our target communities to provide the services and facilities needed to help lift disadvantaged people and communities out of poverty.
